The modern practice of medicine has various levels, from the art of healing to various other Sciences. The Armed Forces Medical Colleges (AFMC) Pune was set up in 1948 in the immediate post world war period. On the recommendations of the B C Roy committee, Armed Forces Medical College was formed. Over the past 50 years it has grown in its functions and has become one of the premier medical colleges of the country. The college gives training to undergraduate and postgraduate medical and nursing students with promising career prospects in the defense services. The college is located in Pune, a city with wonderful geographical location and a history rich in political, educational and military traditions.
