Science is a historical term that refers to any systematic knowledge or practice. The modern use of the term refers to a system of acquiring knowledge based on the scientific method, as well as to the organized body of knowledge gained through such research. The philosophy of science seeks to understand the nature and justification of scientific knowledge and its ethical implications. Science is a reason based analysis of sensation upon our awareness.

Science can be classified into two main types, such as Natural science which studies natural phenomena and subjects and Social science which studies human behavior and societies.

According to a countrywide survey of the top 10 colleges in the country conducted by Gallup Company related to various streams, Fergusson College, Pune ranks sixth.
