Symbiosis International Educational Centre (Deemed University)

The Symbiosis Society is a group of educational institutions providing quality education in varied fields. It was founded by eminent educationist Padmashree Dr. S.B. Mujumdar who had thought for an institution that would understand the core concept of Symbiosis, that is Mutual sharing.

With its 30 years of establishment, the society has grown like a banyan tree having its roots developed extensively. The institutions are scattered in the whole city of Pune and also in the sister city Mumbai. The institutes draw students from all over India as well as from other countries.

Symbiosis International Educational Centre (SIEC), a deemed university as per UGC recognition has following five institutes:

1. Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM)


2. Symbiosis Society's Law College (SSLC)


3. Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies and Research (SICSR)


4. Symbiosis Center for Management Studies (SCMS-Undergraduate)


5. Symbiosis Department of Health Sciences (SDHS)

The institute has the motto i.e. ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakkam' – the world is one family. Hence it encourages foreign students to join its courses for promoting international understanding through quality education. SIEC from the mere status of a deemed university has now been renamed as the Symbiosis International University (SIU) as per the university grant commission recommendation. It now has 10 more institutes under its ambit, namely:
