In India, festivals are given a lot of importance and every festival is celebrated by everyone. Diwali (Festival of Lights), Holi (Festival of Colors) and Ganapati (Festival for Lord Ganesha) are some of the festivals in India which are celebrated by almost every Indian. In India, festivals are celebrated not only for fun and frolic but also to get people together.

"They serve the most disgusting food ever!" she shrieked as they all were criticizing their days at the hostel. And why aren't we allowed to use our phones?" the other said as she threw her hands in the air

As exams come near, college can become boring. Whoever you talk to just asks you about how much you've completed, how much more is left and how many submissions are pending. You don't feel like answering any of those questions. You just want to be distracted. You want to have fun. You want to enjoy. You want your stress to be taken away.

College is exciting. Once you're out of your childhood shell, everything can seem new and different. Children sometimes expect their world to be mostly sunny and cheerful, but any young adult knows that can't always be the case. You also have to face some storms. There will be times when you aren't sure how to act or react to people. There may be times when people say hurtful things, but that doesn't have to hold you back from facing the world. You should be strong enough to ignore negative people, move ahead and leave them far behind you.

I rode to college with boredom and sleep. Of course, college is fun but it has those boring days when nothing is interesting. Theres nothing to do, no lectures to attend, that lethargic feeling which creeps on to you.. all come at the same time. Yes, I was going through one of those days and I knew mom wouldnt let me stay at home.

I stood in a long queue with hundreds of students behind and in front of me. An hour more, I thought as my legs already gave up. I surely wasnt used to all of this.

Sometimes, I wonder why are marks so important? Why do you need to get good grades? Why is your knowledge counted in marks? Knowledge can't be counted, right? But it is important to get our knowledge tested.

I put down my third cup of coffee and stared at the sheets in front of me. I took my eyes off of them and stared at the wall clock hanging behind me, which showed that it was 3 a.m. already. I looked back at my sheets, picked up my pencil and continued with the graphs.

Hurry up, Shambhavi! We're extremely late and you are going to miss your train!" Mom was yelling her throat off for the past half an hour and I was still packing my backpack trying to figure out which of the two tops I should carry along. Finally I made my pick and closed my backpack and was all set to leave.

"Will you please help me reach my class?" I heard her voice as I rushed to my Economics lecture. I was going to ignore her and go ahead, but I don't know why I stopped and turned. That's when I saw a girl with a walking stick in her hand and a helpless expression. She was visually impaired. I ran to her and held her hand.

Nervousness and fear crawled over me as I entered the college gates. I looked around and saw all new faces. It was my first day in college. I had been waiting for this day forever and now that it had arrived I dreaded it. I was alone and I felt lonely. There was no one I knew...

Hi! Myself Akanshya here. I truly appreciate you taking this initiative. Though I'm just a year older to you we resemble when it comes to books. They always take me to a world of my own. A world of the story I'm reading and there I'm in someone else's shoes. Haha! Quite something isn't it? The capability of writers to do that. I know age factor doesn't matter when it comes to books. You really represent almost all the girls when you're expressing your feelings. Best wishes and good luck! - Comment #5
